The other day I was having a discussion with some people about tithing ten percent of our income. Some people don’t understand it, and some people don’t do it because of a lack of trust in the people at the church receiving the money.
God gives us free will and will not force himself on us in any area of life. He will not come in if he is not invited. Tithing is how we invite God into our finances. We are telling him that he can trust us with what he has given us, as we trust him to supply all of our needs. When we don’t willingly tithe, we are telling God that we can’t be trusted and that we don’t need his help at all.
